BOE Personnel decisions

CINDERELLA – The Mingo County Board of Education (BOE) approved a number of personnel actions at a regular meeting held Tuesday evening.

Under professional personnel, several were approved for new employment into existing positions. Brenda Collins was approved for a grade one positon at Lenore PK-8. Brittany Elkins was approved for Kindergarten at Matewan PK-8. Kara Gess and Robert May were approved for substitute teacher positions. Felecia Messer was approved to teach grade four at Dingess Elementary School. Leslie Music was approved to teach grade six at Lenore Pk-8. Travis Ward was approved to teach grade three at Burch PK-8.

The BOE approved four transfers into existing positions. Brittney Baisden was approved to transfer to teach sixth grade math at Lenore PK-8. Heather Johnson was approved to transfer to a social studies position at Kermit PK-8. Sara Rose was approved to transfer to an English position at Lenore PK-8.

Jamie Heflin was approved for reassignment to a science position at Lenore PK-8.

The BOE approved Brian Charles to reassigned duties and be retitled to reflect the change in his position from Assistant Principal at Lenore PK-8 to Assistant Principal at Kermit 60 percent and Lenore 40 percent.

The BOE approved a request for a leave of absence for Estalene Lester from her Kindergarten position at Burch PK-8 effective September 23 to January 1.

Several professional extracurricular assignments for the 2016-17 school year were approved. Joey Carey was approved as Athletic Trainer at Tug Valley High School (TVHS). Donna Davis was approved for Title One Interventionist at Lenore PK-8. Pat Dillion was approved for Title One Interventionist at Dingess Elementary. Christina Golden was approved as Wellness Coach at Lenore Pk-8 School. Stephanie Endicott was approved as Wellness Coach at Gilbert Elementary School. Philip Ann Haydu was approved for Title One Interventionist at Matewan PK-8. Jacqueline Hill was approved for Title One Interventionist at Burch PK-8. James Joplin Sr. was approved as Assistant Football Coach at Matewan PK-8. Amanda Lovern was approved as Wellness Coach at Williamson PK-8. Kim Morgan was approved as Title One Interventionist at Williamson PK-8. Erin Oliver was approved as Wellness Coach at Burch PK-8. Tammy Robinson was approved as Title One Interventionist at Kermit PK-8.

Under service personnel, the BOE approved Clifford Baisden as Substitute Bus Operator for Mingo County Schools. Teresa Bevins was also approved to transfer from a Secretary III position at the Mingo County Extended Learning Center to Secretary III for Mingo County Schools Transportation.
