Heather Thompson of Chattaroy is co-starring in the Addams Family musical/play being performed by The Aracoma Story at Chief Logan State Park.

Thompson tackles the role of Grandma Addams. “She’s funny and feisty but not your typical little old lady character,” Thompson said. “I drew from the memories I have of my own grandmothers, and my favorite TV and movie grandmas through the years. I know everyone will have such a wonderful time seeing us all in action.”

Thompson’s previous roles were Miss Gulch/the Wicked Witch of the West, in The Wizard of Oz production in 2013.

She also played Princess Aracoma (2nd Act) in The Aracoma Story in 2013.

She studied theatre at West Virginia University.

“I’ve loved acting out scenes from cartoons and movies when I was a kid,” Thompson said, “much to the annoyance of basically anyone around me.”

Even though she dislocated her knee during rehearsal, Thompson refused to let it stop her from continuing with the show.

Persons interested in seeing the show can check The Aracoma Story webpage for times and dates of the performances.

Advance tickets are available at Pic Pac at Man, Aracoma Drug in Chapmanville, Apex Printing in Downtown Logan and the Chief Logan Convention Center. Tickets will also be available at the gate of the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater in Chief Logan State Park.

You can order tickets in advance by calling 304-752-0253.
