Attic fire at East End

EAST WILLIAMSON – Wednesday afternoon Williamson Fire Department (WFD) responded to a structure fire on Goodman Avenue at the residence of Ashley and Adam Ramsey.

When the department arrived on scene the homeowners and neighbors were attempting to extinguish the fire with water from the residence.

According to Williamson Fire Chief Joey Carey it appears the fire originated in the attic area of the house.

The homeowners told the fire department when they arrived on scene, they smelled smoke and went to get the neighbors, it was then they realized the smell was coming from the attic area of the home.

They immediately called 911, and attempted to put the fire out.

Upon arrival a “hot spot” was detected in the attic area by WFD.

The department responded with approximately 14 men and three trucks.
