NOLAN – The annual Nolan Reunion will be held the weekend of August 5- 7, 2016 at the Muncy Stage and at the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
On Friday, August 5, the event will start out at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.
There will be singing and socializing on Friday as friends and family gather to enjoy company. Persons are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic lunches. No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
On Saturday, August 6, the even starts early with the annual Nolan Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eugene Marcum is in charge of this event. To enter a car or to get more information contact Marcum.
At 12 noon there will be a rubber ducky race at the old Nolan Toll Bridge.
All day on Saturday there will be old-fashioned quilt display, outside the Ladies Auxiliary building of the church. Mary Kay Marcum is in charge of this event and to find out info on displaying your quilt call 304-235-5797.
Also on Saturday there will be a pet show starting at 3 p.m. This will be at the Nolan Christian Academy playground. Have your pet wear their favorite costume and show off their best trick. There will even be a category for the pet that looks the most like their owner for more information contact Sandra Runyon at 304-953-0087.
At 4 p.m. there will be a “Sweets Contest,” where your sweets will be judged for the best. That will be in the Ladies Auxiliary Building.
At around 5:30 p.m. there will be a singing convention beside the picnic shelter across from the church. At that time the winners of the pet show, sweets contest and other announcements will be made.
Then a special service will be held starting at 7 p.m. by longtime Pastor, Brother Ray Taylor of the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
There will also be a Nolan video to be played Saturday evening. Persons are to submit your old family pictures (make copies) for a Memorial Table to be displayed.
Also on Saturday night there will be more singing and socializing at the Muncy Stage area beside the railroad crossing.
On Sunday, August 7, morning the church will have its annual Homecoming service with a dinner to follow.
This will start at10 a.m. at the Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
