CLEVELAND, Ohio – West Virginia State Senator Mark R, Maynard (R-Wayne), represents the 6th district, which includes Wayne, Mingo, Mcdowell, and Mercer counties. He is currently in Cleveland, Ohio at the Republican National Convention.

Senator Maynard was officially elected as a delegate to the National Convention in the May primary earlier this year when he ran a hotly contested race in the 3rd congressional district for the opportunity to represent W. Va. at the convention.

The convention kicked off Monday and runs through Thursday. It is Senator Maynard’s first National convention.

He was a supporter of Donald Trump early on, committing to him in January when he filed with the W. Va. Secretary of State to run for the Delegate position. He was then chosen as Trumps Co-chairman for the state of the Mountain State.

West Virginia has special recognition at the convention, getting special priorities due to the largest Trump supporting delegation in the nation.
