WILLIAMSON – A young Williamson lawyer has been selected as one of the top lawyers under 40 years of age.
Josh Ferrell of Ferrell and Brown Law Offices, located on Second Avenue in downtown Williamson, recently received the notification of the national honor.
“I’m excited that this area is getting the recognition,” the modest Ferrell said. “It shows our citizens that they can get quality work and representation here as they can anywhere else.”
The award is from the National Trial Lawyers organization. The “Top 40 under 40” is a professional organization composed of the top trial lawyers from each state or regions of certain highly-populated states who are younger than the age of 40. Membership into The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 under 40 is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to those trial lawyers practicing civil plaintiff and/or criminal defense law.
Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications, trial results and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40. Selection is based on a thorough multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.
Each of their distinguished Top 40 under 40 members strives to encompass the knowledge, skill, experience and success held by only the best lawyers in America.
Ferrell graduated from Tolsia High School in Wayne County and then received an undergraduate degree from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. He then attended Appalachian Law School in Grundy, Virginia.
Ferrell is licensed in W.Va., Ky., Va. and Tenn., and also with the U.S. Supreme Court. He began practicing in 2009 and started in private practice in 2012. He also serves as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Mingo County.
