Car wash burglary at Belfry

BELFRY, Ky. – Kentucky State Police (KSP) in Pikeville, Ky. are asking for the public’s help in locating two or more suspects wanted in an attempted theft on Sunday morning at The Pirate Cove Car Wash in Belfry, Ky.

According to a press release issued by Trooper Steven Mounts at KSP Post 9 in Pikeville, Ky.

Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at Pirates Cove Carwash during the early morning hours on Sunday, June 19, 2016.

The preliminary investigation indicates that two unknown males attempted to steal money from coin machines located at the car wash. The coin machines contained no money; however, approximately $1500.00 in damages occurred during the attempted theft. Video surveillance cameras at the business were able to capture the incident.

Kentucky State Police are asking for help identifying the unknown individuals. Anyone who has information is encouraged to contact the Kentucky State Police Post in Pikeville at 606-433-7711.

This case remains under investigation by Trooper Harold Rowe.
