Several in Mingo County to face trial



WILLIAMSON – The Mingo County Grand Jury reported on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, following a two day session.

The Grand Jury returned twenty-one (21) felony indictments, highlighted by seven (7) first degree robberies. The cases are categorized as follows:

• 12 violent

• 5 property

• 2 child abuse

• 2 DUI

“I commend the Jurors for their efficiency and commitment to the legal process, and I am thankful for their dedicated service. If not called in earlier, the Grand Jury will return on Monday, September 19, 2016,” stated Teresa D. Maynard, Mingo County Prosecuting Attorney.

“I further commend the West Virginia State Police, Mingo County Sheriff’s Department, Gilbert Police Department, and Williamson Police Department for the hard work that resulted in these indictments,” Maynard added.

Arraignment hearings will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. before the Honorable Miki Thompson, Mingo County Circuit Judge.
