18th Annual Shriners Car Show

WILLIAMSON – The Tug Valley Shrine Club and the Mingo- Pike Car Club will host the 18th annual Car Show in downtown Williamson on Saturday, May 28. The show was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but inclement weather forced a postponement until this coming Saturday.

The show will feature cars, trucks and motorcycles. Judges for the event will be non-affiliated with the organizations hosting the event. Registration for the event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will continue until noon. A $15 entry fee is required to participate in the show.

Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. Awards will be given and include categories such as Top 30, Motorcycle 7, and 9 Special.

The event will also feature door prizes, an auction and a 50/50 drawing.

Vendors are welcome to the event and spaces are available. For more information call Danny Whitt at 304-426-8412, Jimmy Simpkins at 304-426-8069, or Grant Preece at 304-235-0320.

The Shrine Club officers state that proceeds of the fundraiser will go toward transporting children with orthopedic problems and burn problems to and from Shriner’s hospitals. At present, 41 different patients a year are transported to the orthopedic hospital in Lexington, Ky. and to burn hospitals in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In addition to providing transportation, the Tug Valley Shrine Club honors the children with a swimming party during the summer months and a Christmas party during the holiday season.
