McCARR, Ky. – Three fire departments responded to an early morning fire at Peter Fork, near McCarr, Kentucky early Sunday morning.
According to a spokesperson with the Blackberry Volunteer Fire Department (BBVFD), the department received a call from dispatch at around 5:28 a.m. about a structure fire, at the home of Terry Fields.
Upon arrival the one story cedar home had smoke and flames coming form the backside of the residence. Due to windy conditions mutual aid was requested from Phelps Volunteer Fire Department (PVFD) and Belfry Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD).
Crews remained on scene for approximately five hours. BBVFD, PVFD and BVFD responded with a total of six trucks and 20 men. Several hours later the Blackberry Volunteer Fire Department was called back to the residence after a rekindle of the blaze was observed by neighbors. They arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.
