Rock Slide

Kim Chapman/WDN Photos A huge rock slide damaged both the north and south bound railroad tracks of Norfolk Southern near the Chattaroy crossing just north of Williamson. Crews are on the scene now trying to break up and clear the huge boulders. Heavy rainfall this past weekend apparently caused the rock slide. A spokesman from the Public Relations Department of Norfolk Southern states, “We’re working to clear a rock slide blocking both main lines there. No timetable just yet on when the tracks will reopen.”
