WILLIAMSON – The Williamson Board of Parks and Recreation (WBPR) announces the continued progress of multiple projects that could soon come to fruition.
According to a recent press release issued from the WBPR, the Williamson Softball Park and the Williamson Field House will be renovated.
“The Williamson Softball Park is receiving a field lighting renovation in the next week,” said Brandon Ball, Director of the WBPR. “This will allow maximum utilization of the West Williamson facility. Middle school girls’ softball, adult softball league and other sporting events will benefit tremendously from a nighttime illuminated field,” Ball continued.
WBPR also announces plans to resurface all three facilities adjacent to the West Williamson Softball Park. “We will resurface and line both the tennis court and full size basketball courts known as ‘The Cage.’ A new net and posts will totally renovate the tennis facility. Also, the back multipurpose area will receive resurfacing as well,” said Ball. “Before this resurfacing project begins, all vegetation and trees will be removed from the perimeter fencing,” Ball added.
The press release also indicates that Williamson Field House renovations are in the works. Replacement of windows and bathroom facilities revamping are happening soon. “We want to complete both of these projects before the Williamson High School reunion planned in September,” Ball stated.
According to Ball, new programs will also be available in May. “We plan to add co-ed beach volley ball and softball this May. If anyone would like more information, they can contact me at 606-625-2458,” Ball explained.
The WBPR invites the community to attend their regular meetings held at the Williamson Field House. “Volunteers and great ideas are especially welcome,” Ball stated.
“Come grow with us,” Ball said in conclusion.
