KERMIT – At a recent regular meeting of the Mingo County Board of Education (BOE), board members approved a number of personnel actions.
Larry David Allen and Corey Fields were approved as substitute teachers for Mingo County Schools effective March 23, 2016.
Four requests for a leave of absence were approved. These included: Kelsey Gillman, Scarlette Moore, Brenda Sammons and Peggy Wolford.
Several were approved to renew probationary contracts and to be offered contracts for the 2016- 2017 school term. Those approved include : Deidra Adkins, Steven Alley, William Heath Alley, Brittney Baisden, Randi Bowen, Tiffany Brewer, Kelli Browning, Robert Browning, Brandon Byrne, Harry Clay Campbell, Sarah Carey, Justin Carter, Morgan Casey, Rhonda Charles, Brandon Cline, Whitney Cline, Diana Compton, Dian Corn, Donald Bruce Curry, Channing Daniels, Jennifer Davis, Amanda Dickey, Vanessa Dotson, Meagan Farley, Katherine Farmer, Vickie Fields, Margaret Fitch, Amber Ford, Edith Michelle Ford, Reuben Ford, Serena Fowler, James Fraley, Kelsey Gillman, Angela Gooslin, Tonya Hagy, Hillary Hall, Christa Hanshaw, Craig Hart, Glen Hartsoch, Bethany Hatfield, Rachel Hunt, Heather Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Kimberly Jude, Thomas Jude, Kimberly Messer, Jennifer Miller, Shirley Mounts, Randi Tincher Murphey, Erin Oliver, Robert Ooten, Kristi Parsley-Adams, Kara Plummer, Leah Ray, Ashley Ritz, Jequeta Takara Roberts, Julius Roberts, William Joshua Sammons, Debra Santer, Alicia Smith, Tara Smith, Eric Starr, Jack Stewart, Kristi Taylor, Kevin Whitt, Wendy Wolford and Tiffany Young.

New professional extracurricular assignments were approved for the 2015- 2016 school year. Brandon Ball was approved for Assistant Softball Coach at Williamson PK-8. Jimmy Bragg Jr. was approved as Assistant Baseball Coach at Gilbert Middle School. Jimmy Bragg Sr. was approved as Baseball Coach at Gilbert Middle. Charles Chapman was approved as Assistant Softball Coach at Lenore PK-8. Robert May was approved as Assistant Softball Coach for Tug Valley High School (TVHS). Candace Vance was approved as Athletic Director and Computer Systems Operator at Gilbert Middle. Alonzo Varney was approved as Baseball Coach at Matewan PK-8. Brian Timothy Wellman was approved as Baseball Coach for Burch Middle School and Jeremy Wellman was approved as Assistant Softball Coach at Lenore PK-8.
Resignations were approved for Alan Miller as Baseball Coach at Gilbert Middle School and Jack Stewart as Baseball Coach at Matewan PK-8. A resignation was also approved for Tammy Sutters as Substitute Custodian effective Feb. 11 2016.
