WILLIAMSON – A public notice has been issued to the residents of the City of Williamson and South Williamson, Kentucky from Veolia Water.
Beginning on April 18 and continuing until April 22, Veolia water will be conducting a scheduled fire hydrant flushing for the City of Williamson Utility Board.
On April 18, fire hydrant flushing will take place from Mulberry to Second Ave.
On Tuesday, April 19, fire hydrant flushing will take place from Second Avenue to Vinson Street.
On Wednesday, April 20, fire hydrant flushing will take place at East Fourth Avenue, Peter Street and Goodman Avenue.
On Thursday, April 21, fire hydrant flushing will take place from Peter Street to Valley View.
On Friday, April 22, fire hydrant flushing will take place at the West End and the Kentucky area.
If discolored water occurs, it is not a health hazard. However, during any flushing procedures, iron (red water) and manganese (black water) may become stirred up within the water main, which can create staining on the porcelain and laundry. For this reason, it is vital that the public be aware of the time and area that will be affected.
For questions concerning water quality, contact Jason Allen, Project Manager at Veolia Water at 304-235-2102 or the Williamson Utility Board at 304-235-3785.
