Auditions set for disney’s Beauty and the Beast

Press Release

“A tale as old as time” will be told this summer in Logan and the Aracoma Story Inc. wants to see if you have what it takes to bring the Disney classic to life.

“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” auditions will be held Friday March 4 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday March 5 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 from 2 to 5 p.m.

All auditions will be held in the Logan High School Little Theater at 1 Wildcat Way, Logan, WV 25601.

Roles are available for teenagers, adults and a few children. If you would like to audition, you are asked to prepare about two minutes of a song, an accompanist will be present, bring your own music. You also need to memorize at least a one minute monologue from any show. If you can’t do either, still come, the organization will have something for you to sing and read. Some people will be asked to read specific scenes from the show. Scripts will be provided.

Those interested in auditioning are advised that acting experience is not required. Community theatre is an opportunity to learn more about all aspects of theatre. “It’s a great opportunity to gain real experience in acting, singing, dancing, set construction and props,” Director Bill France said.

High School students can also gain community service hours toward graduation. Local Theater benefits the entire community.

Rehearsals for main characters will begin in March. Larger rehearsals with the entire cast will begin in April.

The show will be presented June 9th thru June 12th, June 16th thru June 19th, and June 23rd thru 26th at the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater.
