Armed robbery near Justice


SPRATTSVILLE – The Mingo County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Dave’s Self Service Station near Justice, W.Va.

According to a criminal complaint, Deputy B.T. Sipple, Cpl. C. G. Endicott, and Cpl. E. Williams of the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department responded to an armed robbery involving a fire arm at Dave’s Self Service Station.

Officers spoke with the store clerk, Vicky Ferguson. Ferguson explained that an unknown male, dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask entered the store and aimed what appeared to be a shotgun at her and demanded money.

Ferguson explained that the suspect stole $1,262.00 from the store and then fled the scene on foot. Ferguson told officers that the suspect ran to the far end of the store’s parking lot and she didn’t see the suspect’s vehicle.

Upon speaking to the owner of the store, officers learned that the store’s security cameras were not working at the time of the robbery.
