BELFRY, Ky. – An unidentified female was extricated from her vehicle following a two-vehicle collision in the Belfry area on the Monday morning, December 21.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. and involved a white sedan and a Ford F-150 pickup truck. As a result of the collision, the sedan was flipped on its side on the embankment along U.S. 119. The sedan was pressed into the hillside along the highway.
The truck had minor cosmetic damage along one side as a result of the collision.
The Belfry Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD), the Kentucky State Police, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, and the Ky. Transportation Cabinet responded to the scene.
The BVFD worked for approximately 30 minutes to remove the woman from her vehicle.
Appalachian First Response ambulance service transported the female to a local hospital following the accident. The extent of her injuries was not available at press time.
No further information has been released involving this incident. The accident is still under investigation.
