Staff Report

WILLIAMSON – Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, recently received a donation of $250.00 from the United Steel Workers Local Union 12625 Mingo.

On Monday, 12-01-2015, Local Steel Workers Union President Beverly Chapman, and Vice President, June Ward, presented officers with a check on behalf of all union employees of Trinity Healthcare located in Williamson, WV. For many years, Troopers with the Kentucky State Police and local law enforcement officers come together to participate in “Shop with a Trooper” program.

This program allows troopers and officers alike to assist low income children by shopping for necessities and toys just before Christmas. This not only helps lower income families during the stressful holiday season but it also shows a much different side to law enforcement. Generous donors like the local Steel Workers Union are the key to our success and make it possible for Kentucky State Police to provide local individuals and families in need with assistance.
