The slide moved a large portion of the hillside at Big Splint Branch. A representative from the West Virginia Department of Transportation stated the project to replace the original road has not yet been put out for bids.

After the slide, the West Virginia Department of Transportation opened a temporary roadway (right). Last week, local residents reportedly cleared and reopened the road that had been affected by the slide.
