WILLIAMSON – The Tug Valley Road Runners Club (TVRRC) held a Fear the Running Dead 5-k run or one mile walk Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Williamson Fieldhouse.
Participants were encouraged to dress as zombies for the event.
There was a $25 entry fee and all participants received a finisher medal and shirt.
This event featured a kid’s race as well as an adult race. Awards based on age group were announced following the race.
This year, 101 individuals signed up to participate in the event.
The next area 5-k is the Tug Valley Panthers Haunted Run for Your Life, on Saturday Oct. 24. The registration fee is $20. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the run begins at 7 p.m. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume for the event.
There is a Halloween 5k at Belfry High School on Oct. 31.
Dingess Elementary is hosting a 5-k on Nov. 14.
The proceeds from the school’s 5-k runs will go toward fundraisers.
The Tug Valley Road Runners Club extends their condolences to TVRRC President, Alexis Batausa on the recent death of his father, Dr. Batausa.
The TVRRC plans to host a charity 5-k event in Williamson Saturday, December 5 with all proceeds going toward Dr. Batausa’s funeral expenses.
