WILLIAMSON – The Williamson Park Board (WPB) has three events scheduled in October.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, the WPB is hosting a Family Movie Night starting at 7:00 p.m.

The event features two popular family friendly Halloween movies: Hocus Pocus and Beetle Juice.

Weather permitting, the event will be held outside at the Lefty Hamilton Park on the football field. For that reason, those attending are encouraged to bring a blanket and folding chairs. If it rains, the event will be moved inside the Williamson Fieldhouse.

There is no entry fee but donations will be accepted. Vendors are welcome to set up at the event for a $10 fee.

A Halloween Bash has been scheduled at the Field House on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The event is sponsored by the WPB and the Citizens for a Better Williamson and coincides with Mingo County’s scheduled Trick or Treat.

The Field House will be open from the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will feature treats, games and costume contests.

Rocktoberfest has been scheduled at the Williamson Fieldhouse on Oct. 31 at 6:00 p.m.

The event features local bands: One in the Chamber, Victimeyes, Kender, and Sever the Wicked.

There will be a costume contest as well. The cost for admission will be $10.
