WILLIAMSON – The Mingo County Board of Education (BOE) approved several professional and service personnel assignments at a regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Amanda Lovern and Anna Stepp were approved for new employment as substitute teachers.

Amanda Dickey was approved to begin employment into a new position in First Grade at Kermit PK-8.

Shirley Mounts was approved to transfer into an existing position in Kindergarten at Williamson PK-8.

Deidra Adkins was approved for Third Grade at Burch Elementary School.

Retirement was approved for Betty Diane Lamanca from her position as a Title One instructor at Williamson PK-8.

The BOE also approved a number of professional extracurricular assignments for the 2015-2016 school year.

At Williamson PK-8, Cecilia Lynn Barker was approved as an Academic Sponsor. Rhonda Charles and Jamie Robinette were approved as SAT Chair. Stephanie Fabin was approved for Newspaper and Yearbook Sponsor. Keishia Branch was approved as Cheer Coach. Kenneth Brandon Bowens was approved as Wellness Coach. Larry Johnson was approved as Baseball Coach. Betty Diane Lamanca was approved as Computer System Operator.

At Mingo Central High School, Marsha Boggs was approved as SAT Chair. Christine Cline was approved as Mathematics Department Chair and Academic Sponsor. Teresa Cline was approved as CTE Department Chair. Vicki Crum was approved as Special Education Department Chair. Deena Evans was approved as Computer System Operator. Joseph Hunt was approved as Academic Sponsor and Social Studies Department Chair. Elizabeth Keatley was approved for the English Department Chair. Sarah McVaney was approved as SAT Chair. Patricia Opauski was approved as Yearbook Sponsor. Sonya Picklesimer was approved as Science Department Chair. Melanie Smith was approved as Newspaper Sponsor. Terrence Soltesz was approved as the Related Arts Department Chair. Joshua Staton was approved as Athletic Trainer as needed. Melissa Hunt was approved as SAT Chair.

At Gilbert Elementary School, LuAnn Browning was approved as Computer System Operator. Stephanie Endicott was approved as Wellness Coach. Ernestina Trent was approved as SAT Chair.

At Gilbert Middle School, Andrea Mounts was approved as Wellness Coach. Carmella Porter was approved as Academic Sponsor. Mark Dean was approved as Computer System Operator. Karen Cook was approved as Newspaper and Yearbook Sponsor.

At Lenore PK-8, Pamela Chapman was approved as Wellness Coach and SAT Chair. Brittany Danielle Fitzpatrick was approved as Cheer Coach. Anna Hartley was approved as SAT Chair. Nancy Kline was approved as Yearbook and Newspaper Sponsor. Mildred Ooten was approved as Academic Sponsor. Summer Pruitt was approved as Computer System Operator. Billie May was approved as Assistant Cheer Coach.

At Matewan PK-8, Tondra Elkins was approved as Academic Sponsor. Barbara Fields was approved as Computer System Operator, Wellness Coach and SAT Chair. Wanda Joplin was approved as Gear UP Tutor. Susan Jude was approved as SAT Chair. Ashley White was approved as Yearbook Sponsor. Hester Keatley was approved as Volleyball Coach.

At Kermit PK-8, Marsha Deskins was approved as Newspaper Sponsor. Denise Fitzpatrick was approved as Yearbook Sponsor. Jordan Ooten was approved as Wellness Coach. Jeffrey Varney was approved as Academic Sponsor and Computer System Operator.

At Dingess Elementary, Jaclyn Hall was approved as Wellness Coach. Ella Maynard was approved SAT Chair. Lisa Vance was approved for Academic Sponsor and Computer System Operator.

At Burch Elementary School, Diana Wellman was approved for SAT Chair. Joy Hunt was approved as Computer System Operator and Academic Sponsor.

At Burch Middle School, Roy Penix was approved as Gear Up Tutor.

The BOE also approved new employment into existing positions for service personnel. Christy Burlingame was approved as an Aide and Autism Mentor at Lenore PK-8. Donna Estepp was approved as an Aide at Williamson PK-8. Tina Evans was approved as an Aide at Kermit PK-8. Frank Spence was approved as Plumber II at Mingo County Schools.

The BOE approved service personnel to transfer into existing positions. Diana Francis was approved to transfer as an Aide to Gilbert Elementary School. Betty Massey was approved to transfer to Cook III at Mingo Central High School. Donna Michelle Rahe was approved to transfer to an Aide position at Dingess Elementary School.
