CINDERELLA – The 2017 Mingo County Teachers of the Year and Service Personnel of the Year awards were presented at the regular meeting of the board of education on Tuesday night.
Richard Duncan, Ph.D., Director of Human Resources and Information Systems for Mingo County Schools announced the winners and Superintendent of Schools Don Spence presented each of the winners with a plaque.
There was one winner from each school in both categories. Then the overall winner was announced. The county winner for Teacher of the Year was Theresa Jarrell of Gilbert Elementary School.
The county winner for Service Personnel of the Year was Vickie Fraley, an Aide in Early Childhood Classroom and Assistant Teacher of Williamson Pre K-8 School.
They both received big ovations from the standing room only crowd in attendance, many who came to see the presentation of the awards.
