GILBERT – The Mingo County Board of Education approved

professional and service personnel changes

at Tuesday’s Board of Education Meeting held at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center in Gilbert.

At Williamson PK-8, Vanessa Dotson was approved for new employment in pre-k. Kenneth Bowens was approved to transfer into the Health and Physical Education position at Williamson PK-8.

James Fraley was approved to teach grades one and two at Matewan Elementary.

Debra Santer and Randall Crum were approved to teach Special Education at Mingo Central High School. Trella Williams was approved to teach Social Studies at Mingo Central High School.

Justin Endicott was approved to transfer from Instructional Coach to a position in grade two at Gilbert Elementary.

Sara Rose was approved to transfer from English at Tug Valley High School, to an Art position at Kermit PK-8 pending receipt of endorsement or out- of- field authorization.

Resignations were approved at Tug Valley High School for Melissa Maynard, Jamie McCoy, and Ryan Prince. Kelly Cline was approved to resign from Mingo Central High School. At Burch Middle School, Melvin Cunningham was approved to resign. Heather Hatfield was approved to resign from Williamson PK-8. At Lenore PK-8, Lisa Yates was approved to resign. Justin Endicott was approved to be reassigned to grade four at Gilbert Elementary.

At Matewan PK-8, Joann Clusky was approved to be reassigned to teach grade four, and Leslie Pruitt was approved to be reassigned to teach grade two.

Melvin Cunningham resigned as boys’ Basketball Coach at Burch Middle school and that was approved. Shawna Belcher was approved as Parent Assistant.

Mary Endicott was approved as Parent Assistant at Burch Elementary and Kim Vinson was approved as Library Assistant.

At Gilbert Middle School, Jimmy Bragg, Sr. was approved as Assistant Football Coach. Gail Carter was approved as Parent Assistant. Johnny Neal Murphy was approved as Assistant Softball Coach.

Catrina Endicott was approved as Library Assistant at Gilbert Elementary School. Kim Hensley was approved as Parent Assistant.

LaDonna Davis and Daplin Marcum were approved as Parent Assistants at Dingess Elementary. Tonya Fitzpatrick was approved as Library Assistant and Pat Dillion was approved as Reading Interventionist.

At Kermit PK-8, Clyde Farley was approved as Assistant Girls’ Volleyball Coach and as Assistant Volleyball Coach. Heather Johnson was approved as Softball Coach. Gail Lovins was approved as Parent Assistant and Stacy Marcum was approved as Library Assistant. Marsha Deskins has been approved to resign as Volleyball Coach.

Joey Carey was assigned as Athletic Trainer as needed at Tug Valley High School.

Donna Davis was approved assignment as a Reading Interventionist at Lenore PK-8.

At Williamson PK-8, Robin Griffey was approved as Parent Assistant. Larry Johnson was approved as Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. Margaret Jude was approved as Library Assistant and Kim Morgan was approved as Reading Interventionist. Stephanie Fabin resigned as Baseball Coach.

Rita Hardin was approved as Parent Assistant at Matewan PK-8. Phillip Ann Haydu was approved as Reading Interventionist. Debra Mitchell was approved as Library Assistant. Rebecca Keatley resigned as Yearbook Advisor.

At Mingo Central, Terry Harrison was approved as Assistant Football Coach.

Kay Thaxton and Samantha Wilson were approved as PERC Parent Assistants for Mingo County Schools.

For service personnel, Chester Kirk was approved for substitute general maintenance. Carolyn Baize was approved to transfer as Autism Mentor to Lenore PK-8. Robert Channell was approved to transfer as Bus Operator for the Tug Valley area. Kathy Parsley was approved to transfer as Cook II at Williamson PK-8. Diana Bragg, Rita Cline, Marcella Cooper and Chester Kirk were approved for retirement.
