Grilled Asian style chicken wings

When the weather is nice I really enjoy cooking supper on the grill and these wings are absolutely delicious. Marinating them for several hours keeps the meat nice and juicy and the Asian flavors are subtle but you know they are there. Most folks like spicy buffalo wings, we do as well, but we also like a change of pace from the ordinary and this recipe does just that. This works just as well in the oven also, heated to 400 degrees and cook, rotating halfway through, for approx. 30-35 minutes. Make sure the chicken registers 165 degrees with a meat thermometer before serving.

Grilled Asian Style Chicken Wings

3 lbs. chicken wing drummets

1/3 C. soy sauce

1 T. olive oil

1 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. onion powder

1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1/4 tsp. pepper

Place the wings in a ziploc bag. Whisk together the remaining ingredients and pour over the wings. Seal and squish to coat, place in the fridge and marinate for 3 hours. Heat your grill to 375 degrees, brush the grates with a little vegetable oil. Place the wings on the grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, turning often to prevent burning.
