H&R Block employee accused of fraudulently filing for loans went before Mingo County Magistrate Pam Newsome on Wednesday.
Pamela K. West, of Red Jacket, waived her rights to a preliminary hearing and her case was bound over the grand jury.
According to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court, West, between the dates of Dec. 11, 2009 and Jan. 15, 2010, fraudulently filed for Emerald Card loans by using customers information without their knowledge. The criminal complaint further states that the accused obtained debit cards for varying amounts based on the loans and withdrew the funds from various ATM machines located in Mingo County and Pike County Kentucky.
West allegedly obtained a total of $9,600 in U.S. currency, and upon finding this information, H&R Block was forced to reimburse the customer for the loans.
Police also stated in the criminal complaint that West confessed to the crime committed.
West did make bond and has been released from custody at this time.
