MARROWBONE - The felony case that stemmed from the theft of tobacco products valued at over $11,000 from a business at Marrowbone has yielded a second arrest.

The criminal complaint filed earlier this month by Mingo Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Joe Smith alleges that between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2012, Jeremiah Waller, 30, of Marrowbone, and Amy Williams, of Kermit, conspired to steal approximately 210 cartons of cigarettes and 10 rolls of Skoal from the Marrowbone Junction, where Williams was employed.

The owner of the business, Terri Blake, gave information to Smith that Waller would distract other employees of the store while Williams, his girlfriend, would take the tobacco products from behind the counter and leave them in a location of the store where Waller could access and remove them from the store.

Allegations are that the duo would sell a portion of the cigarettes for cash, while others were traded for prescription drugs.

Williams was arrested on March 15, but Waller had managed to elude police after hearing warrants had been issued against him. Waller’s run of luck ended three days ago, when Sgt. Smith received a tip that the defendant was at the home of his mother at Marrowbone and was taken into custody without incident.

Waller was charged with one count each of conspiracy and fraudulent schemes. He was arraigned before Magistrate Dallas Toler who set bail at $11,000. The defendant was remanded to the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.
