Shelia Maynard

Shelia Rena Maynard, 49 of Rawl, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, in a car accident.

She was born March 3, 1962, in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of the late Arlie and Eileen Helton Lewis.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ashley Maynard; and two brothers, Elder Lewis and Elmer Lewis.

Shelia was a loving mother and sister.

Survivors include one son, Phillip Bryant Coleman of Rawl; one daughter, Arleen Faye Coleman of Rawl; four brothers, Arland “Bo” Lewis, Earl Lewis, Jimmy Lee Lewis and Richard “Ricky” Lewis all of Williamson; three sisters, Alice Faye May of Canada, Ky., Minnie Starr of Charleston, and JoAnn Varney of Forest Hills, Ky.; and a host of other loving family and friends.

According to her wishes there will be no services.

Carrol Sexton

Carroll Sue Cline Sexton passed away January 23, 2012.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. January 26, at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Ky. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. January 25, at the funeral home.

Martha Slone

Martha Jane Slone, 85, of Kermit, passed away January 14, 2012.

Funeral services were held January 16, at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield. Visitation was held January 15, at the funeral home.

Clyde Sparks

Clyde Bennett Sparks, 86, of Kermit, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

He was born November 13, 1925, in Clifford, Ky., to the late Charlie and Jane Peters Sparks.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Rose Pope Sparks; his grandson, Eric Sparks; and his brother, Proctor Sparks.

Survivors include his brothers, Fred (Thelma Jean) Sparks of Kenova, Mack (Pat) Sparks of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sister, Elsie (Ira) Conn of Hurricane; his sons, Charles (Sue) Sparks of Kermit, Jim (Robin) Sparks of Richmond, Va., and Bob (Sharon) Sparks of Kenova; grandchildren, Bryan, Angie, Andrea, Johnathan, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Payton, Myles, and Judah.

Clyde was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during WWII. He was active in his community, serving as town recorder and councilman many terms. He was a lifelong member of Kermit Masonic Lodge 167 and a member of Kermit United Baptist Church where he loved to attend and sing Bass with the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, at the Kermit United Baptist Church with his brother Mack Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova. Pallbearers will be Bryan Sparks, Johnathan Sparks, Kyle Sparks, Jack Streets, John Kelly, and Larry Conn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sherman (Blackie) Spaulding, Bill Belcher, Dr. J W Endicott, Matt Clovis, George Marcum, and Western Auto Employees.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Warfield Chapel of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home.
