Multiple arrests keep law enforcement officers busy

WILLIAMSON - Law enforcement officers across the county continued to make arrests and Mingo County magistrates continued to hear their cases during the past week.

Christina Lynn Tidwell, 25, of Rawl, was taken into custody by West Virginia State Police Trooper H.A. Rose on charges of one count of simple possession (synthetic marijuana).

Samuel Newsome, 51, of Breeden, was arrested on charges of petit larceny and trespassing by Mingo County Sheriff’s Deputy L .J. Thomas.

Sandra Pugh, 52, of Williamson, was placed under arrest by Williamson Police Chief Barry Blair for falsely reporting an emergency incident.

Burgess R. Dalton Jr., 42, of Red Jacket, was taken into custody by state police Senior Trooper J.J. Dean for failure to change registry information with the state police, as he is a registered sex offender.

Kenneth Bryant Dials, 43, of Delbarton, was arrested by Mingo County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. James Muncy and Deputy Jonathan Endicott after being charged with driving on a suspended license for reasons of DUI and no insurance.

Joyetta New, age unknown, of Baisden, was charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, battery on a police officer, obstructing an officer and brandishing a deadly weapon, and was placed under arrest by Mingo County Sheriff James Smith and deputies M.J. Mounts and L.J. Thomas.

Alan Mullins, 28, of Dingess, was arrested on six counts of wanton endangerment by sheriff’s deputies E. Williams and S. Messer.

Barry McClanahan, 21, of Majestic, Ky., was arrested by state Trooper D.M. Williamson on charges of domestic assault, domestic battery, obstructing and fleeing.

Kenneth F. Warren, 28, of Roanoke, Va., was charged with one count each of obstructing and domestic battery. The arrest was made by Williamson Patrolman J. Marcum.

Rebecca Jackson, 42, of Red Jacket, was taken into custody by state Trooper D.L. Contos and charged with possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (hydrocodone).

T.J. Evans, 23, of Ragland, faces charges of nighttime burglary/entering without breaking, petit larceny and destruction of property, following his arrest by sheriff’s Cpl. C.G. Endicott.

Charles Lester Messer, age unknown, of Kermit, was arrested by state Senior Trooper J.D. Matheny on charges of DUI and no proof of insurance.

Lonnie Maynard, 54, of Chattaroy, was taken into custody by state Trooper H.A. Rose after being charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.

Sandra King, 43, of North Matewan, was taken into custody by state Trooper D.M. Williamson and charged with DUI, no proof of registration, no proof of insurance and failure to carry a driver’s license.

The defendants are scheduled to return to court in the near future for their preliminary hearings.
