WILLIAMSON - John and Mary Vivian “Vee” Jude of Williamson, WV, formerly of Thacker, WV had no idea years ago when they became one what God had in store for them as they set forth on their journey as husband and wife. They have been blessed with a rich life full of precious memories they hold dear and a love that has with stood the test of time through many decades. They were married on March 14, 1944, in Williamson, WV.

John and Mary just celebrated their 70th Platinum Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 with a vow renewal ceremony and a dinner planned by their children and grandchildren.

Mary was given away and escorted in by their nephew, David Cisco. The ceremony was performed by their grandson, Matthew Jude, pastor of Jesus Way Tabernacle. The words he spoke were special and touched all who were in attendance. The idea of their grandson performing a vow renewal ceremony for them 70 years later was priceless. The couple’s pastor, Jerry McCoy, had prayer and the blessing of the food. While guest mingled and had dinner a video was playing of John and Mary showing pictures from the early days of their marriage, family times with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and copies were made for the family by great-granddaughter, Hayley Cook.

After dinner the couple cut a 3-tier wedding cake beautifully decorated and made by their great niece Cindy Cisco Hubbard. It was a grand time of fellowship with family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and their church family.

John and Mary were blessed with 4 children, Rodney (Annette) Jude of Sprigg, WV, Danny (Norma) Jude of Winchester, KY, John Dean (Lee) Jude of Dickson, TN, and Bonnie Dotson of Vulcan, WV. They have 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way. John and Mary have dedicated their lives to their children and grandchildren always playing an active part and attending events down through the years. The family would like to thank all who came out and helped us celebrate this once in a lifetime event.
