Stone, Ky. - Stone Heritage held its Annual Pot Luck Christmas Dinner and Party in the ballroom at the Red Robin building. The event was well attended and included Christmas carols led by Connie Hatter, a buffet dinner and a rousing game of Dirty Santa.

This year, Stone Heritage restored the former physician’s office, which was made possible due to the generosity of Gene Paul and Billie Jean Thacker and Jim and Carolyn Stultz. Other successes in 2013 included the Easter Egg Hunt, the Memorial Weekend Open House and the Pond Creek Reunion. Additionally, over 300 copies of the book of family stories “Memories of Pond Creek, Pike County, Kentucky” had been sold and a new shipment was recently received.

Topping the group’s wish list for 2014 is to receive the $50,000 they have been allotted from coal severance funds. They are also hoping to increase membership and participation in monthly meetings and activities.

Peggy King took anyone interested on a tour of the museum, pointing out all the new donations and the recently restored area.

Monetary donations are always welcome and can be mailed to : Stone Heritage, Inc., 1355 Pond Creek Road, Stone, KY 41567. For more information on becoming a member, donating items to the museum or how to get involved, visit stoneheritageinc.org.
