PARKERSBURG — The Secondary School Activities Commission’s weekly high school football computer rankings were released on Tuesday afternoon. The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the playoffs starting Friday, November 15.

Mingo Central remains at No. 9 this week in Class 2A with one more game remaining in the regular season. The Miners will play host to Mt. View Friday night and it will be homecoming for the school.

Mingo Central will be assured of a post season berth, however their opponent and where they will play will not be decided until this weekend. MCHS has an outside shot at hosting its first-ever playoff game if they finish at No. 8.

Logan moved up to No. 15 in Class 3A and still has a good shot at making the playoffs. Chapmanville is on the outside looking in in Class 2A at No. 18. They will need to win Friday and have some help to get into the top 16.

The Man Hillbillies are ranked No. 4 this week in Class 1A and should have at least one home playoff game.

Wayne remains at No. 2 in Class 2A percentage points behind Bluefield. Those two schools play this Friday in Bluefield.

Wyoming East, a team that beat Mingo Central by one point in the first game of the season, is ranked No. 5 this week. Tolsia is No. 18 and Westside No. 20 in AA. Both have an outside chance at getting into the playoffs.

Huntington remains No. 1 in Class 3A, while Martinsburg is No. 2, Capitol No. 3, Point Pleasants No. 4 and George Washington at No. 5. Capitol and GW will square off this Friday night. That game will have major implications in the 3A seedings which will come out on Sunday evening.

Madonna of Wierton, St. Marys and Valley of Fayette are the top three schools in Class A. Valley or Fayette played at Tug Valley just a couple of weeks ago. Moorefield is tied with Man at No. 4.
