WILLIAMSON - According to information provided by the Mingo County Health Department on Friday, flu vaccinations are now available and a clinic to serve the needs of the public has been scheduled.
West Virginia residents ages 19 and above are encouraged to take advantage of the flu shot clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 8, that will be held inside the Mingo County Commission Courtroom (Room 136) on the 1st floor of the courthouse between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., or until which time supplies are depleted.
Due to the flu clinic on Tuesday, the health department will not be providing other services on that day. Flu vaccines only will be offered. Flu vaccines for children, as well as pneumonia vaccines for adults, are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the health department located on the 2nd floor of the Annex Building in Williamson.
Those who are wishing to obtain a flu vaccine on Tuesday are requested to wear a short-sleeved shirt, as there will be no place to accommodate the removal of clothing. Depending on weather conditions, this may require dressing in layers.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Mingo County Health Department during regular business hours at 304-235-3570.
