CINDERELLA - James Ed Baisden has been named the new Mingo County School’s Maintenance Director.

Baisden, who has been teaching the Automotive classes the past few years at the Career Center in Delbarton and the past couple of years at Mingo Central, started the job a couple of weeks ago.

Last year he served as the interim Transportation Director at the start of the 2012 school year. Then he returned to MCHS to teach the Automotive classes.

Baisden is the pastor at the Laurel Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He also coaches boy’s basketball at Lenore Middle School.

Baisden grew up in the Dingess area of Mingo County. He graduated from Lenore High School back in 1971.

“Everything is going good so far,” Baisden said from his office on Cinderella Hollow. “We have hit the priorities and safety concerns first with the job orders.”

“We have a lot of work orders, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel,” Baisden added.

Baisden has hit the ground running. He said there were a lot of work orders to catch up on throughout the county.

Baisden is currently working on a 10-year plan for his department.

“The men are doing a great job. The principals at the schools have been very supportive,” Baisden added. “Everyone has been great to work with.”
