The Mingo Central High School men’s basketball team will be hosting Donkey Basketball game on Wednesday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the MCHS gym.
Teams have been formed from the Mingo Central junior class, senior class, Tug Valley High School and the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department. There will be two playoff games and a championship game.
Each team will ride donkeys while playing basketball. “We thought it would be nice since the two schools do not have a fall sport competition that we would get together for a friendly and fun game of donkey basketball,” said MCHS boosters club officer Steve “Tib” Cook.
During intermission children will be able to ride the donkeys for a small fee. Advance tickets will be sold at both schools two days before the event. Anyone interested in buying tickets can see a Mingo Central basketball booster club member. Tickets are $6.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.
Cook encourages everyone to come out and enjoy a great evening of family fun.
