WILLIAMSON - Frances Frye, the Clerk for the City of Williamson, has released information regarding the upcoming King Coal Festival Dog and Cat Show, that she has agreed to chair for the Action in Mingo (AIM) organization as part of their 41st annual event.
The pet show, scheduled to take place on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Lefty Hamilton Field in West Williamson is open to dogs and cats only. The contest is one of the most popular festival events and allows proud owners a chance to let their furry friends strut their stuff and compete in a variety of categories.
Registration (no charge to center) will be held between the hours of 6 and 7 p.m. the evening of the event, with judging scheduled to begin promptly at 7. The categories for the felines will include longest tail, best groomed, laziest, friendliest and most colorful. The dogs will compete for the titles of fastest tail wagger, best groomed, best costume, most obedient and friendliest. The coveted “Best of Show” trophies will be awarded in both divisions.
For more information on the Dog and Cat Show, you are welcomed to contact Frye at the Williamson City Hall by calling 304-235-1510 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
