Casey Mackenzie France was recognized on Saturday, August 10, as a West Virginia Elks Association Most Valuable Student Scholarship State Winner.
Casey was presented with a $2,000 scholarship at the West Virginia Elks Association 2013 Mid-Year Convention held at the Ramada Inn in Morgantown.
Williamson Elks Association Lodge #1408 sponsored Casey’s scholarship entry. Casey is the son of Freddie and Kimberly France of Logan, and is a 2013 graduate of Logan High School.
The Elks National Foundation provides more than $3.74 million in college scholarships each year through its three scholarship programs. The application process and deadlines vary for each program. All applications must go through a local Elks Lodge before reaching the Elks National Foundation office. Contact your high school counselor for more information or your local Elks Lodge.
Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. The Most Valuable Student scholarship deadline will be December 6, 2013. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student’s permanent U.S. address.
