As a certified wildlife biologist, Bob Fala is an outdoor columnist for the Logan, WV, Banner. For the most part, this book is a favorite collection of articles and columns over the past 25 years.

The pages are full of outdoor adventures, full-color wildlife photos and stories of the joys of the great outdoors. Any wildlife/outdoor enthusiast would appreciate adding this to their collection of books on the great outdoors and all that is has to offer.

Fala’s career began in 1975 as a wildlife conservation officer for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. He then worked for Arch Mineral Corporation (now Arch Coal) on coal mine reclamation and wildlife issues, particularly with golden eagles and mule deer in Wyoming, Illinois and West Virginia.

The Mountain State is where he has made his home for the last 25 years. He has done similar work for the WVDEP’s Division of Mining and Reclamation.

He has also written extensively for several magazines. He holds a B.S. in forestry and M.S. in wildlife from Pennsylvania State University. He has twice been awarded the West Virginia Bowhunters Association outdoor writer of the year.

Upon retirement, he went to work on his first book.

(Editor’s Note: Fala is the new outdoor columnist for the Williamson Daily News (WDN). His articles will appear on Sunday’s in the WDN. His columns have been in the Logan Banner for several years.)
