Four vehicles and a double-wide mobile home were involved in an accident that took place at approximately 4:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the Braeholm area on Route 16, Buffalo Creek Road.
Logan County Sheriff’s Department Deputy M.B. Carter responded to the crash scene and found a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Ruth Caserta, of Accoville, had been traveling East on Route 16 at Braeholm and was attempting to turn left into her driveway.
A 2007 Kenworth tractor trailer, driven by Ralph Bowen, of Amherstdale, had been traveling West on Route 16 when Ms. Caserta turned into his lane of travel.
Mr. Bowen was driving toward the right of the roadway in an effort to avoid Ms. Caserta when she ran into his tractor trailer. The tractor trailer then hit a 2011 Cheverolet Silverado, which was parked on the roadway edge.
When Ms. Caserta hit Mr. Bowen, it caused her vehicle to strike a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, which was driven by Elizabeth Jeffrey, of Accoville, who had been traveling east on Route 16 behind Ms. Caserta.
The tractor trailer continued to travel off the roadway dragging the parked Silverdo with it. Both vehicles ran into a doublewide mobile home owned by Randy Caserta.
Traffic was backed up in both directions of the two-lane road until the accident could be cleared.
No injuries were reported from anyone in the mobile home. All three drivers were taken to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment. No information is available on their condition.
