RED JACKET – The Mingo Central tennis team is off to a good start in only their second season.

Coach Julius “Boo” Hatcher’s boy’s squad has picked up several match wins so far this season, while the young girls’ team had improved each time they have played.

The Miner’s tennis team consists of only one senior, Caleb Crum. The juniors on the squad are Taylor Blevins, Katie Cline, Julius Hatcher, Emily Hatfield, Dakota Rawls, Brennon Sloan, Kyle Surber, the sophomores are Julianna Music, Maria Ramey and freshmen include Kaitlyn Johnson, Micah Muncy, Ariel Ritchie and Megan Taylor.

The team returns to action on April 8 at Logan in a tri-match with Logan and Westside. They then travel to Scott on April 9. All of their matches are played away since Mingo Central still does not yet have tennis courts at the new consolidated school.
