WILLIAMSON — If you are guilty of dumping your trash illegally, not paying for garbage removal services, having excessive garbage on your property or littering the highways, beware that Mingo County Litter Enforcement officers are hot on your trail.

“Litter and illegal dumping is not something we’re taking lightly,” stated Enforcement Officer N. Hatfield. “The residents of Mingo County should take pride in their property and their communities, and should want to create a clean, friendly first impression for our visitors.”

“There’s no excuse for this happening and we’re going to be out searching for offenders. They will be cited for their actions. We’re past the point of issuing warnings.”

The County Commission encourages anyone that has information about violators to contact their office at 304-235-0380 and they will send officers to the location to investigate and correct the problem. You can make your report anonymously; you are not required to provide your name.

Officers Hatfield, L. Croaff, J. Curry, W. Queen and D. Stratton will be conducting checks and inspections throughout the county, and they encourage everyone to do their part to help keep the home of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s clean.
