Betty Lea Smith, 83, of Prichard, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.
Born May 12, 1929, in Williamson, she was the daughter of the late Estle and Ruby Baker Maynard.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Smith; her son, Charles Terry Smith; her grandson, Christopher Smith; and a sister, Bonnie Pauley.
Betty was a retired LPN from the Williamson Memorial Hospital and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Tammey Smith of Prichard; her granddaughter, Gretchen Smith of Ceredo; two step-grandsons, Brad Parsley and Brandon (Kelly) Parsley both of Fort Gay; four brothers, Larry Maynard of Florida, Donald Maynard of Bowling Green, Ky., Sammy Maynard of Belfry, Ky., and Mike Maynard of Hardy, Ky.; three sisters Janet Ward of Williamson, Maude Ball of Roanoke, Va., and Nancy Morrison of Lexington, Ky.; her great-grandchildren, Katelyn Harmon, Tate Parsley, Levi Parsley, Logan West, T.J. Parsley, and Colton Holley.
In honoring Betty’s wishes, a brief service will be conducted Friday, January 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Mountain View Memory Gardens Chapel at Huddy, Ky. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Mountain View Memory Gardens Chapel.
