Ronnie Dale Ray, 64, of Chattaroy, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born January 13, 1948, in South Williamson, Ky., he was the son of the late Enos Ray and Elmay Maynard Ray.
Ronnie was a 42-year employee of TRAMCO, Inc., where he was the supervisor of the electrical department. He enjoyed fishing and working on old cars in his spare time. He was a devoted member of the Hardy Church of Christ.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a family man above all else. He was very proud of his girls and his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren. Ronnie was deeply loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered always.
In addition to parents he is preceded in death by his beloved first wife and the mother of his children, Kay Crum Ray; an infant son, Matthew Ray; and a brother, Ervin Ray.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Nolen Ray; two daughters, Amy (Michael) Curry of Chattaroy and Nicole (Justin) Clevenger of Forest Hills, Ky.; a stepson, James (Susan) Perry, Genoa; two stepdaughters, Tammy (Jimmy) Chafin, Genoa, Jessica (Sam) Leep, Genoa; three brothers, Virgil (Barbara) Ray of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Harless (Janice) Ray of Hardy, Ky., and Gene (Brenda) Ray of Van Wert, Ohio; a sister, Dottie (Bob) Bolton of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Chelsea Curry, Ethan Curry, Jenna Curry and Karli Clevenger; five step-grandchildren, Peyton Perry, Taylor Chafin, Keleigh Chafin, Hayden Leep and Gavin Leep; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Susie Hatfield of Chattaroy, Randy and Glenna Crum of Fort Gay, and Hilo Ray of Van Wert; several nieces and nephews, extended family members; his lifelong friend, Dave Reed of Turkey Creek, Ky., his family at TRAMCO and his family at the Hardy Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, December 4, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the mortuary. Minister Ed Lockard will officiate. Interment is in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
