Ralph E. Ward, 64, of Delbarton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born July 14, 1948, in Buchanan County, Va., he was the son of Beatrice Sizemore Ward of Raven, Va., and the late Dewey Ward.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Madison Paige Ward; and a brother David Ward.
Ralph was a Minister of the Gospel for many years and was a member of the Barrenshea Church of God. He formerly worked as a salesman in the machinery and mining equipment industry.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his friend and the mother of his children Sandy Ward of Delbarton; two sons, Brandon and Dustin Ward both of Delbarton; one daugher, Jacinda Kaye Ward of Varney; three brothers, Raymond Ward of Tazewell, Va., Danny Ward of Alabama, and Andrew Ward of North Carolina; three sisters, Faith Ward of Patterson, Va., Phyllis Osborne of Raven, and Lois Martineau of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Makenzie, Chase, Kendall Alexis, Sarah, Joshua, Davilyn, and Daylon; special friends Doug Maynard, Oval Adams, Billie Joe Farley, Doris Christian, Lonnie Baisden, Stephanie Chapman, and The Hannah and The Rash families. Also surviving is a host of other friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 21, at noon from the Barrenshea Church of God at Freeburn, Ky., with Pastor Bobby Dale Wolford and Bro. Danny Martineau officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at the Barrenshea Church of God with special services at 7 p.m.
